While most people are familiar with the typical type of heart attack, known as STEMI (ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction), there are other types of heart attacks that are less well-known.

3. STEMI equivalent - In some cases, a heart attack can occur without the typical changes in the ECG readings. This is known as a STEMI equivalent, and it can be difficult to diagnose. Doctors may need to use other diagnostic tests, such as cardiac MRI, to confirm the diagnosis.
4. Coronary artery spasm - This type of heart attack occurs when the coronary artery spasms or constricts, reducing blood flow to the heart. The cause of coronary artery spasm is not well understood, but it's more common in people who smoke, have high blood pressure, or use cocaine.
